چکیده

deep fascia about 1 cm lateral to the origin of the zygomaticus major muscle; one ramus passed superficially above the upper third of the muscle. On the right side, this was not seen. The main zygomatic retaining ligaments are located immediately lateral to the origin of the zygomaticus major muscle. The zygomatic branches are usually located deep to the deep fascia in the lateral area of the muscle and passes deep under the third of the muscle. Therefore, the branches are protected while the retaining ligaments are dissected in the sub-SMAS plane. However, in this patient, the risk of the zygomatic branch injury is higher so blunt dissection, adequate vertical traction of the SMAS flap, and the use of tumescent solution are needed to visually differentiate between the retaining ligaments and the nerve branches to avoid any injury.

Abstract: Bilateral Breast Implant Rupture Following Elective Electrical Cardioversion: A Case Report and Review

HyPotHesis: Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is magnetic resonance technology that is widely used in the study of the central nervous system and is emerging as a tool to non-invasively image peripheral nerves and assess the extent of nerve fiber regeneration. Given no definite consensus on the accepted autograft orientation during peripheral nerve injury repair, we compare outcomes between revers...

In vivo assessment of peripheral nerve regeneration by diffusion tensor imaging.

PURPOSE To evaluate the sensitivity of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in assessing peripheral nerve regeneration in vivo. We assessed the changes in the DTI parameters and histological analyses after nerve injury to examine degeneration and regeneration in the rat sciatic nerves. MATERIALS AND METHODS For magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), 16 rats were randomly divided into two groups: group P...

Differentiation of Edematous, Tumoral and Normal Areas of Brain Using Diffusion Tensor and Neurite Orientation Dispersion and Density Imaging

Background: Presurigical planning for glioma tumor resection and radiotherapy treatment require proper delineation of tumoral and peritumoral areas of brain. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is the most common mathematical model applied for diffusion weighted MRI data. Neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging (NODDI) is another mathematical model for DWI data modeling. Objective: We stud...

Evaluation of Soft Tissue Sarcoma Tumors Electrical Conductivity Anisotropy Using Diffusion Tensor Imaging for Numerical Modeling on Electroporation

Introduction: There is many ways to assessing the electrical conductivity anisotropyof a tumor. Applying the values of tissue electrical conductivity anisotropyis crucial in numerical modeling of the electric and thermal field distribution in electroporationtreatments. This study aims to calculate the tissues electrical conductivityanisotropy in patients with sarcoma tumors using diffusion tens...

Diffusion tensor imaging and tractography of distal peripheral nerves at 3 T.

OBJECTIVE We studied whether distal peripheral nerves could be imaged using quantitative diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) with a 3-T MRI scanner, and visualized using tractography. METHODS Altogether 6 healthy subjects were studied. The diffusion was quantified with apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and fractional anisotropy (FA) maps, and the direction of main diffusivity was visualized wit...
